18-25 is MY Demographic

As Zach Stanford's Associated Content points out the 18-25 demographic is the least likely to vote in any election. Zach attributes this to the mechanics of the election which basically states that voters must present themselves at stations in cities where they are registered, however this poses a major problem to college students who are away from home and for the most part comprise the demographic.

There are probably dozens of other factors that keep my American counterparts away from the polling booths, however I'd like to draw to attention the fact that in this election, more than any other in history, MY demographic has made an astounding difference.

Despite all the jokes that circulate about the laziness of my demographic, the media's constant pressure to vote and the teen movement that ensued certainly forced us to "Rock the Vote" in this election. Music videos, graphic design posters, all sorts of apparel, etc influenced the minds of all young adults across North America and encouraged MY demographic to stand up and vote for themselves.

Finally the future's adults, the future's leaders and politicians, the future's handlers have some say in what's happening in the world. FINALLY, the young mind's of America have stood up and taken responsibility for the future. This is a powerfully historic moment, people and I truly feel like I'm a part of it because MY demographic is the one that took initiative.

GO BARACK GO.

3 Reasons Why the United States Will Always be Cooler than Canada

So... It's no secret that the United States is the coolest country in the world. Everyone wants to mimic the US of A and so forth. Here are three reasons that the United States is cooler based on my experiences in Florida.

REASON 1:
They have 2 day disposable DVD rentals. Seriously.
Here's how it works: You pay $6 for any DVD you want. You bring the DVD home and you get 48 hours to watch it as many times as you want. (48 hours is activated once you start watching). Once the 48 hours is over you throw it out or recycle it. It is deactivated after the 48 hours and becomes a uselessly blank DVD. Now THAT'S awesome.

REASON 2:
They have a restaurant called Japango that serves candy-rimmed mango, watermelon and apple martinis. Liiiife! They really DO taste better than they even look!
So I REALLY enjoy the watermelon martinis (pictured above). The rim of the glass is coated in a sugarly-sweet candy. It tastes like god's gift to planet earth. Plus the watermelon martini itself is pretty decent too!! :)

REASON 3:
They have IPod vending machines. Literally. You walk up to a vending machine (much like drink, chips and snack machines in malls and at school) and you pick the color IPod you want. You put in your credit card/cash and it is released. You can also get all types of IPod accessories and fun gadgets that work with IPods. Can you say AWESOME?

There are other cool electronics featured in this particular vending machine as well. Which makes it super cool. I really was tempted to buy an IPod JUST to see how it worked and to enjoy the incredibly cool-factor. Either way, only in the United States would such a machine exist.
