Snow Woes

I really just don't get it. What's the big deal about December?
Seriously. Aside from being sick with potential mono-ness, everyone seems to be going a little nutty now that snow has arrived. It's more than just a white Christmas kind of crazy that I've experienced since yesterday's initial snow fall/sheer torrent.

Number 1:
I get to my weekly Psych Warden appointment to discover (as per usual) that there are no vacant spots. Out of the corner of my eye I see a woman cleaning the snow off her car RIGHT IN FRONT of Mara's building. Now, as you are all probably aware, this NEVER happens. What are the odds that in the middle of a snow storm the spot DIRECTLY in front of the building you are going to opens up? Right. My point exactly, NEVVVVERRR! Anyways, I pull a u-ey and wait patiently for her to finish making her car absolutely, positively snowless. I mean really, all seven minutes of snow-cleaning later she gets into her car. I wait patiently... the lights turn on, the ignition and engine have been started, yet... she wont fricken move. Five minutes go by and there's no movement in the car. I wonder if the crazy snowless lady is waiting for the snow to pile back up on her car or if she's unconscious so I inch up next to her. Lo and behold she is sitting there, STARING ahead. I honk, she looks up and tells me she is IN FACT moving. I reverse and resume my patient waiting, realizing that despite being FIFTEEN MINUTES ahead of schedule, I need to be upstairs in approximately 3 minutes. A few seconds later she moves her car, I have no trouble parking and have my looney ready for parking payment (shocking I KNOW!) and I notice that AS I get to the meter it starts flashing. Clearly she had been waiting for every second on the meter that she paid for to run dry. I mean REALLY?! WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?! Those 15 minutes of my life were a whole damn quarter, which I would have been willing to give her if she had told me! How fucking cheap can you be?

Number 2:
I had to go to Webster library downtown (for those of you who don't know the address-I didn't, its 1400 de maisonneuve). So after my sesh with the Warden, I "unpark" from my beautiful spot, leaving a whole SIX minutes on the meter that I did not ask anyone for a refund for nor did I wait for the minutes to slowly trickle down.... and I proceeded East on Sherbrooke. Now, this doesnt seem particularly eventful or exciting but let me tell you was I pissed to discover that the second a fucking snowflake lands on a windshield of a car, the entire fucking population of Montreal seemingly forgets how to put the metal to the pedal. I mean really, people were DELIBERATELY driving like buffoons! 2 guys literally caused traffic (it seemed to be on purpose; although one was an old black fellow and the other a young-ish chinaman, no obvious relation) by driving 15 fricken kilometers an hour WITH THEIR HAZARDS ON (to REEEAAALLLLLYYY irritate me). It took me literally, 10 minutes to find the book I needed and a whole HOUR AND 35 MINUTES to get from Victoria/Sherbrooke to Bishop/De Maisonneuve and back to Cote St Jew. How fucking ridiculous is that? I have exams PEOPLE! NO time to waste on your moronic driving abilities (or lack thereof).

Number 3:
Lack of studying aside, I was far from anxious to write my Social Psych exam this morning; however, I resolved that I was not going to be hindered by the multitude of moronic drivers on the road and begged my parents to ensure I was awake a whole extra half hour early. Luckily for my insistance because I woke up to discover that my car was a block of ice, LITERALLY. Thankfully my parents had installed an automatic starter last year and I figured that since I wasnt leaving for a whole HOUR that if I kept the car running, by 8:30 (it was then 7:30) I'd be on the road with no problems. Well... I was wrong. The world conspired against me this morning! At 8:15 my father drives my sister to school and he decided that he would turn up the defroster/heat in the car for the last 15 minutes... well that was all sweet and all except that my car was literally SOLIDLY frozen SHUT. He called to tell me that instead of driving straight to work post-brat drop off... he'd return home to help me CARVE the car out. So naturally, my father's quite the little jokester like yours truly, and I assumed he was kidding. I got dressed without eating breakfast (an exam day necessity) and went outside to inspect the situation. It's now 8:22 and I have every intention of leaving at 8:30 only to discover he no keeding. I literally cant even get my chisel out of the trunk because it's SOLID ice. I grab a hockey stick and start POUNDING the car out, not worried that I'd break a window considering the four-inch thick ice that's coating my car... I finally get my trunk lose and get the chisel. After what seems like forever, my father returns and together me and my 220-pound father HAMMER, CARVE and CHISEL a beautiful Jeep out of a block of ice. So heads up if you need a decorative piece at your next Simchah, the Shapiro gang are artists! (P.S. got to my exam on time, however pant bottoms were wet and very uncomfortable during the exam. boo.)

Number 4:
Randi fucking got her license yesterday somehow in this weather. Must. Share. Car. FUCK... although, I havent shared yet :) and have no intention of EVER sharing muahahah!

I'm angry at the world, mostly at the snow and at the freezing cold. Deal with it!

A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

So it's another wonderful PostSecret Sunday!!!! Another secret obviously amazed me today because it hit close to home:

Brilliant? I know. Way to go mom and dad.

This kind of brings me back to a blogpost I DIDNT make about my fight with Big Momma earlier this week. Basically, Big Poppa was an asshole and I called him out on it, and then Hot Shot yelled at Big Momma for no reason and made her cry. Anywhooo... I basically bullied her into talking about her feelings and bitched about how 19 years later she's still totally incapable of communicating... and furthermore, that because of her inability to express herself to me, that she didn't deserve a chance to come into the Psych Warden's office to "therapize". Anyhow we managed to have a 45 minute talk/semi-screaming match. I guess I'm on my way to that fresh start I've fantasized about! New outlook is working, woo hoo!

So Ryan has 218 hits as of this second on his video. Thanks to all the people who went to the link :). Uncle Steven thinks he can get 100 000 hits and then Ry will be on Jay Leno. He even offered to make sure that I got on the show. ha! as if!

So... I spoke to Lex today! I havent spoken to that cutie in a loooong time, anyways, her marks are still high in school and she's excited for us to be coming down in a few weeks :) I'm so not excited for anything other than to enjoy the warm weather and see my cousins :D everything else is going to be hellish. I mean really? The Adam's family in a <2000 condo =" death.">

Another Florida issue - the Concordia tentative exam schedule states that my Research Methods exam is Friday, December 19th at 7 until 10 pm. Shit sucks cause I've got plane tickets to Florida that day leaving at 4:45 pm. what to do what to do!?!?!

So my soccer girls didn't show up today, piled on top of Emerson's gross incompetence, can we say, Lauren's supa-pissed? I think so!!!! It looks like we'll be defaulting the season. Sexy!

Needless to say, V is coming home in a few hours and I couldn't be more excited. I miss her face more than anything else in this world. I'm SO incredibly happy to see her AHHHH words don't express this feeling. It's been nearly a month! I'm dying!

Peace and Love. Peace and Love.

I'm Crazy by DSM-IV Standards

People always say the hardest thing to admit is that you aren't perfect... the hardest thing for me to admit is that I might actually be crazy. It's not like everything in my life doesnt point me in that direction. All the clues, hints and what not that have trailed along the way like little puzzle pieces just waiting to be picked up and fit within the greater framework. It's not that honesty is a quality that is lost on me, it's that it's a challenge I would much rather not take on head first.

Based on the five seconds of research I've done on symptoms and the hours of poring over my boring abnormal psych text book my third semester at Dawson, I think Borderline Personality Disorder isn't such a stretch. Moreover, it is clear to me that I am definitely a candidate for Attachment Disorder as demonstrated by my past few sessions with the Warden.

Now, I know it's very easy to pinpoint the DSM-IV criteria/symptoms to situations in my life that would make me believe that these disorders hit a lot closer to home than a chapter in my school textbook but I'm starting to believe that my whole life leads me to that conclusion.

My attachment to friends, people, songs, clothes, pictures and other memorabilia are just so indicative of this bullshit. I'm clearly not in the mood to get detailed.

We'll make it a later date.

Musings are Done... Moving Along

Well now that my Musings posts one and two are done [edit: they've been moved to a separate blog: click here to check it out] and out of the way I can get back to the reason I really started this blog: get all mushy with myself and figure shit out. Although it was tons of fun to make up nicknames and be all clever. Maybe I'll throw it in from time to time to jazz up the place.

Speaking of jazzing up, I seriously need to clean my room. It's starting to look like a pigs pen and quite frankly, it's a terrible (and inaccurate) reflection of who I am. Typically, I'm detail-oriented, neat, organized and anal beyond belief. Somehow those traits dont carry over to the cleanliness of my room. Not sure why.

Moving further along, I really miss V. Seriously girl, get that cute tush back to me. I miss your face like nothing else. I need some spontaneity and God knows what else. I feel like I'm in a serious rut here. It's probably just lack of sleep with a sprinkle of depression and over-worked brain syndrome. A few chilled-out days will probably help and seeing as how I'm not working Monday-Thursday I should be fine.

Something tells me I'm going to have a grilling session with the Psych Warden tomorrow. I must say I'm really looking forward to it though. I need to get this crap out of me before it eats me alive and it seems to be working. Thank F'n God.

Anyhow, it's getting kinda late - and by late getting I mean it's already late. Like 2:20 AM late and I want to get back to a normal sleep schedule aka 1:15 AM. So I should probably get off this super addictive Online Public Kvetch-site. Tomorrow's a new day and I intend to make the best of it with a new outlook on life. I promise to post all about it in the PM.
